New Dermatology
Within recent years the science of skin diseases and their treatment has changed
fundamentally. Simple use of creams has evolved into a much deeper understanding
of molecular factors, environmental influence and sociological implications.
The environment, particularly the effect of UV-light exposure is playing an
ever more important role, from which allergies, premature aging and skin tumors
can result. Therefore, in the complete approach to skincare the knowledge of
these aging mechanisms and aesthetic considerations play an increasingly important
role.
This has led to the development of new and refined methods of prevention, on
going care and treatment, including surgical techniques and the use of
light and lasers, as well as minimally invasive techniques to rejuvenate the
face, like peels, Botox® and filler products that can add volume back to
the skin creating a soft natural refreshed look.

DERMATOLOGIE AM KURFÜRSTENDAMM was founded in 1998. The clinic
was designed to be very aesthetically pleasing and welcoming whilst highly
efficient by Swiss architect Max Dudler. State of the art technology
and a specially trained medical aesthetician are a central part of many
treatment options.
The physicians Dr. Wahl and Dr. Zirbs contribute in their respective fields of expertise to this clinic.
Dr. Wahl
specialises in surgical and aesthetic dermatology, particularly
in minimally invasive techniques including the use of Botulinum toxin,
injectable fillers, peels, lasers etc. He studied and trained in Germany,
in the United Kingdom and at the University of California, San Francisco
(UCSF). He is very active in giving lectures and training courses at
home, throughout Europe and internationally. He also participates in
trials of new products and is a respected member of expert faculties
on facial aesthetics.
Dr. Zirbs
Dr. Zirbs`s main interest is in counseling and treatment of acute and chronic skin diseases. This includes allergy diagnostics and treatment, prevention, diagnostic and treatment of skin cancer, skin surgery and medical as well as cosmetic laser treatments. He has additional qualifications in nutritional medicine and psychosomatic dermatology.
Dr. Zirbs trained and worked in the Dermatology and Allergy department of the Technical University Munich at Bieberstein where he was also involved in the training of young dermatologists. He has done research and did significant field work in skin disorders in Kuwait and Tunisia. This resulted in the publishing of several scientific papers as well as lecturing at numerous international medical congresses.
